About Chef Steek

Chef Steek, head chef and owner of Succulent Imagination, was raised in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. He enlisted in the Army and traveled the world for over 6 years, where he was exposed to a wide variety of cooking styles from various countries. His main influences are Asian and Caribbean flavors and spices. Chef Steek is a winner of the Food Network show ‘Cooks vs. Cons’.

At the age of 9, Chef Steek became fascinated with cooking when his mom gave him a jar of generic peanut butter. His immediate response was to make peanut butter cookies. He made them daily until his family could no longer take it and asked him to make anything else besides peanut butter cookies. With the support of his mother, Chef Steak explored his creativity in the kitchen. From that day forth, he vigorously pursued his dream of becoming a Chef.

After being a home cook for many years, Chef Steek went to J & A Institute of Culinary Arts in South Philadelphia. He graduated with a degree in Specialized Technology and Restaurant Management. He was also recognized as a 5 time star student. With his love of Asian and Caribbean spices coupled with his passion for creating great food, Chef Steek created Succulent Imagination.

Succulent Imagination provides delicious food for social gatherings, intimate events, private events and corporate office parties, just to name a few. You can book Chef Steek as a personal private chef or attend his series of cooking classes. The grand opening of Succulent Imagination yielded an attendance of over 250 people. For the National Guard, of which he is still a member, he cooked for and served over 200 soldiers. He has hosted many private events and catered many corporate office events.
